ROOTED IN ATLANTA, READY TO LEAD

District 7 encompasses the vibrant eastern half of Buckhead, home to some of Atlanta’s most desirable locations.  We are anchored by serene, established neighborhoods nestled beneath a lush community-wide tree canopy. These residential areas provide stability and charm, defining one of the nation’s most vibrant urban mixed-use districts.  Our major roads seamlessly integrate the City’s most sought-after office spaces, retail, and high-rise residences into a dynamic commercial hub, making our district uniquely appealing for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

The policy priorities outlined here reflect a thoughtful balance, directly addressing both the preservation of neighborhood integrity and the sustainable economic growth of our commercial corridors. These issues are timely and carefully chosen to enhance livability, ensure public safety, support economic vitality, improve mobility, and protect our environmental resources.

There are a lot of great things about our district. My commitment is to build upon this foundation through measured growth, sustainable policies, and responsive communication that serves existing residents and warmly welcomes newcomers. It takes each of us contributing to the vision and vitality of District 7. Together, we will ensure our community remains Atlanta’s best place to live, work, and visit.

TRANSPORTATION AND MOBILITY

We must address Buckhead’s chronic traffic congestion through enhanced transit access, expanded non-motorized mobility options, and safely linking residents to schools, parks, employment centers, and the district’s three MARTA stations. Special attention should be given to improvements along Wieuca, Peachtree Dunwoody, and Old Ivy Roads. Council must also use its legislative and oversight role to ensure District 7’s many capital projects stay on track through construction completion, including the Buckhead Area Smart System, Blueway Trail Planning, Lenox Road Safe Street, Piedmont Road Capacity Improvements, and the Wieuca Road Roundabout.

PUBLIC SAFETY

Public safety is a top priority.  We should support fully staffed, well-trained, and competitively paid police and fire departments that are equipped to protect, serve, and be accountable to all residents. Together, we can continue implementing the Buckhead Security Plan, find viable solutions for the area’s unsheltered population, and adequately fund the three Zone 2 precincts and two Battalion 6 stations within the district.

ZONING AND NEIGHBORHOOD INTEGRITY

Maintaining the unique character of District 7’s ten dynamic neighborhoods requires vigilant zoning oversight. We must support thorough reviews of proposed developments, enforce zoning and stream buffer regulations, and advocate for responsible rezoning practices. By aligning new growth with community values and recommendations provided by Neighborhood Planning Unit B, we will strategically encourage appropriate density in commercial corridors while preserving our single-family homes and tree-canopied neighborhoods. I will consistently support community-based zoning decisions that legally protect the integrity and livability of our district.

ETHICAL GOVERNANCE AND FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

A transparent, ethical, and financially responsible government is essential for the prosperity of Atlanta. Understanding the City's various funds and overall budget, enforcing stringent procurement processes, and cooperating with the independent Ethics Office and Inspector General will allow us to strengthen oversight to ensure taxpayer funds are wisely spent. With disciplined leadership, we can prioritize infrastructure investments, protect the general fund balance, and avoid property tax increases.

PARKS, TRAILS, AND GREENSPACE

Expanding and improving our parks, trails, and greenspaces significantly enhances our community's quality of life, health, and economic vitality. District 7 has experienced unprecedented growth in greenspaces, from Loudermilk Park on the south end through the Blue Heron Nature Preserve, extending north along Path 400, eventually to the City’s border.  These areas increase property values, improve stormwater drainage infrastructure, and provide vibrant venues for outdoor recreation. Investing in greenspace enriches daily life and ensures lasting benefits for future generations.
